The fashion world has clocked that the biggest developments in digital this year will be in our wardrobe. Smart watches, Jawbones and Google Glasses are just the tip of the iceberg. Now top designers are involved, the next generation of wearables could have form and function and actually be, er, wearable. Samsung have teamed with the organisers of the 61st Madrid Fashion Week to showcase the very best young designers’ techno garments. More than 70,000 clothes-lovers who made the pilgrimage to the the Spanish capital were treated to the latest style innovations in the Samsung EGO Showroom. Catwalk shows from design icons like Agatha Ruiz de la Prada and Desigual appeared alongside the work of lesser-known upstarts. Award-winning Rubén Gómez presented seven high-tech parkas built in ultra-light fabrics packed with features including LED lighting, handsfree headsets and even tents.
