Statement of Intent.

Bloc Gatwick is a 245-bedroom hotel, without a restaurant or a bar, offering a friendly service that is responsive to the needs of the customer. The hotel is situated in the heart of Gatwick Airport South terminal with easy access to all the airport amenities. Information can be found on www.blochotels.com

Bloc Gatwick is located next to the Departure gate on the 3rd floor of the south terminal.

Due to airport security baggage must remain with the customer whilst checking in and out.

The Approach.

The approach to the hotel is level with double doors leading to the lift lobby. The ground floor public areas are fully accessible.

Welcome and Reception.

The reception desk is on the left-hand side of the departure gate on the 3rd floor of Gatwick airport South Terminal. The reception desk stands 100 mm high. However, a member of staff will come to the front of Reception and help you check-in or out. There is an induction loop available at reception. You are required to set your hearing aid position to 'T'.

Pets.

With the exception of working assistance dogs for disabled people, our hotels do not accept pets.

Smoking Policy.

Smoking in the hotel is prohibited by law. Guests are allowed to smoke outside in the Airport designated areas.

Car Parking.

Onsite car parking is provided by Gatwick airport and charged accordingly.

Toilet Facilities.

There is an accessible Male and Female toilets located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the airport.

Bedrooms.

We have 13 accessible rooms, located over four floors (5, 6, 7, 8) some with windows and some without windows specifically adapted for wheelchair users. They are located in close proximity to the main guest lift. All bedrooms have flat-screen TV, drench shower, AC and Wi-Fi. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Rooms can be booked with a window or without a window.

Bathrooms.

All bedrooms have their own wet rooms with vertical drench showers. Accessible rooms have a wheel-in shower with a non -slip floor and shower seat, extra space for a wheelchair to fully turn, grab rails around the toilet and shower area and emergency pull-cords. All emergency pull-cords are connected to the reception.

Evacuation.

In an emergency, customers will evacuate through two well signed posted fire exits. Employees are trained in evacuation procedures and will be responsible for getting customers out of the building. A fire alarm system is installed.

Lifts should not be used in emergencies. There is an area designed as a wheelchair refuge for such instances. A fire alarm system (with both audible and visual warnings) is installed throughout the hotel public areas and accessible bedrooms.

Future Plans.

There are no current plans for further development of the hotel other than constant improvements to the facilities.

Hairdryers are located in each room. Ironing rooms are located on Floors 6 and 8. Hot drinks rooms are location on Floors 5 and 7.
